Summary

Your main goal is to disrupt a chain of some kind of strange DNA by creating groups of 3 or more elements of the same color. Destroy biological hostiles, retrieve color cubes and aim carefuly. Will you be able to fight for your life and think clearly at the same time ?


Game Controls

You're in control of an advanced nanobiological defense system.
- move around with the keyboard [DIRECTIONAL ARROWS]
- aim with your mouse
- shoot by keeping your left mouse button pressed

If you've picked up a cube, the next time you shoot you will launch the cube in the direction your pointing at.


Game Principle

Your goal is to fill the level completion gauge before the end of the time limit.
You'll have to destroy hostile biological agents to survive but also to collect color cubes.
Move over cubes to pick them up and launch them at the chain to create groups of three or more elements of the same color.
Chain explosions will fill the level completion gauge (killing hostile agents will not).

When picking a cube the following will happen :
- you become invulnerable, you cannot collide with hostiles or bullets
- you become invisible to hostiles which will cease all activity
- you are slowed and unable to collect any other cube or bonus
- the next time you shoot you will launch the cube in the direction you're pointing at
- your energy gauge is fully refilled but will be consummed over time until you launch the cube

If you're energy gauge reach zero while you're carrying a cube, it will disappear.

As soon as you launch the cube or it disappears, you lose your invulnerability, you recover your normal speed and hostiles start to move again.

Threats

Macro Cells
Tough, slow and relatively harmless, they can still be annoying by crowding the stage and on certain occasion releasing smaller hostiles on destruction.


Hunting Cells
Suicidal hostiles always coming right at you.


One-eyed Cells
These are priority targets ! Destroy them before they crowd the screen with bullets.


Devious Cells
These are sneaky and dangerous hostiles. Not much is known about them.

Burning hostiles
Burning hostiles will explode on death damaging everything around them, friend or foe. Use it at your advantage and don't let them get close !



Combos

Combos are chain reactions occuring with clever arrangement of color cubes on the chain. When the chain is splitted by an explosion you created, the resulting gap will close by itself. When the two strands of chain connect, if a group of 3 or more of the same color is formed, a new explosion occurs : that's a combo.

The combo level depends on the number of time an explosion occurs when the chain reconnects.

Combos are an extremely important part of the game because :
- they will fill the completion gauge much faster. In fact, in certain higher levels, you'll have to create combos to finish before the time limit.
- they are the only way to get access to the best bonuses of the game.
- trully skilled players will achieve far greater highscores by creating high level combos.



Bonuses

There are two sets of bonuses in the game.

Normal bonuses are spawned randomly whenever a simple chain explosion occurs.


Time Bonus : receive 10 additional seconds to complete this level


Health Bonus : recover a small amount of lost health


Pause Bonus : the chain will stop for a few seconds


Rewind Bonus : the chain will move backward for a few seconds


Score Bonus : receive 200 additional points


Special bonuses are spawned only when a combo level occurs for the first time in each level


Maximum Health Bonus : your health gauge increases.


Maximum Energy Bonus : your energy gauge increases


Speed Bonus : the movement penalty for a carrying a cube is reduced


For all additional combos a normal Health Bonus will be spawned.

Note that when you have less than ten seconds left to finish the level, EVERY chain explosion will spawn a Time Bonus !


Macro Shot

When you perform a long distance shot with a cube resulting in a chain explosion, you will be credited with a Macro Shot bonus


End Level Bonus

For each Combo and Macro Shot you've performed, you will be credited with a score bonus at the end of each level. This bonus will increase with each level.


TIPS
- Do not lose your time destroying hordes of hostiles and focus on the chain if you have cubes at hand.
- Use the invulerability offered by color cubes to move around freely among crowded stage.
- When approaching the limit try to always keep a cube at hand to spawn a Time Bonus (or more) when under 10 seconds !
- Do not wait for combos to happen, create them from scratch if needed !
- Though it's not obvious at first, the best bonus of the game is by far the speed bonus reducing your movement penalty for carrying a cube. Go and get some with high level combos !
